2025 Black Jaguar Foundation Annual Report

A year of growth, meaningful milestones and collective action – discover what we achieved together in 2025!

We’re excited to share the Black Jaguar Foundation’s 2025 Annual Report, looking back on a year of progress, learning and important steps towards realizing the Araguaia Biodiversity Corridor.

From planting a record number of native trees to strengthening our nursery infrastructure and expanding our seedling production capacity, 2025 was a year of turning collective commitment into tangible impact.

And there’s much more to celebrate!

During the 2024/2025 planting season, we planted a record 611,400 native trees and restored more than 244 hectares of degraded land. We expanded our operations to 24 partner farms, strengthened our network of native seed collectors and took important steps towards monitoring biodiversity recovery in our restoration areas.

These achievements reflect the dedication of our field teams, the knowledge and leadership of local communities, and the commitment of the partners and supporters who make our work possible.

LOOKING AHEAD

2025 laid important foundations for the next stage of our journey. In 2026, we are ready to build on them – scaling our restoration efforts while continuing to learn, adapt and restore with care.

We are planning our second restoration hub in Lagoa da Confusão, Tocantins, strengthening our partnerships and preparing for our most ambitious planting season yet: 450 hectares restored and nearly 900,000 native trees planted. At the same time, we will continue investing in our nursery, with the goal of reaching a production capacity of up to 1.2 million seedlings per planting season, and launch our fauna monitoring programme to better understand and measure ecosystem recovery.

As our work grows, we are also strengthening our governance, processes and accountability – ensuring that the Black Jaguar Foundation is prepared for long-term impact.

THANK YOU FOR BEING PART OF THIS JOURNEY!

None of this would be possible without the people and organisations who support our work. To our partners, supporters, seed collectors, landowners, field teams, communities and everyone who contributed in 2025: thank you.

Together, we are restoring ecosystems, strengthening local livelihoods and creating the conditions for biodiversity to thrive again along the Araguaia Biodiversity Corridor.

There is still a long way to go. But every restored hectare, every native seed collected and every tree growing in the corridor brings us one step closer.
