DONATE

The mission of the Black Jaguar Foundation is to bring back the biodiversity along the banks of the Araguaia River through ecological restoration. To accomplish that, we plant a mix of over 70 different native species of trees from the Amazon and Cerrado savanna, aiming to faithfully recreate a healthy ecosystem where animals can thrive and trees can flourish for a better and greener Earth.

  • Scientific name: Handroanthus serratifolius (Vahl) S.O.Grose
  • Height: 8-20 meters
  • Group: Diversity
  • Characteristics: Very ornamental tree due to its flowering in the dry season. Its flowers feed hummingbirds and parakeets. Its wood, of excellent quality, is highly coveted, making the species threatened with extinction in some locations.

  • Scientific name: Jacaranda sp.
  • Group: Diversity

Landi

About the specie:

  • Scientific name: Calophyllum brasiliense Cambess.
  • Height: 20-30 meters

  • Scientific name: Clitoria fairchildiana R.A.Howard
  • Height: 6-12 meters
  • Group: Soil-covering
  • Characteristics: Because of the speed of its growth and the shade provided, it is an excellent covering species, used to rebuild the forest structure.

  • Group: Diversity

Tamboril

About the specie:

  • Scientific name: Enterolobium timbouva Mart
  • Height: 10-20 meters
  • Group: Soil-covering
