O que come\u00e7ou como um meio de fornecer sementes para o nosso projeto de restaura\u00e7\u00e3o ecol\u00f3gica, hoje j\u00e1 faz uma diferen\u00e7a significativa para as comunidades que vivem na regi\u00e3o do Araguaia!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

No ano passado, nossa equipe de campo iniciou treinamentos para comunidades que vivem em assentamentos na regi\u00e3o do Araguaia. Eles visitaram os locais, fornecendo treinamentos e equipamentos t\u00e9cnicos, para incentivar as pessoas a fazerem parte do nosso projeto.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

E a cada nova visita, trazem novas hist\u00f3rias. Por isso, hoje, gostar\u00edamos de compartilhar algumas dessas hist\u00f3rias com voc\u00eas \u2013 come\u00e7ando pela Dona Eunice e pelo Seu Pedro.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][divider line_type=”No Line”][vc_video link=”https:\/\/vimeo.com\/799180778″][divider line_type=”No Line”][vc_column_text]A Dona Eunice e Seu Pedro pertencem a uma comunidade ribeirinha na regi\u00e3o do Araguaia e cultivam mandioca em sua ro\u00e7a para produzir farinha de mandioca. No entanto, como Dona Eunice colocou no v\u00eddeo acima, ela acredita que:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cEu estou vendo que plantar mandioca, fazer as planta\u00e7\u00f5es n\u00e3o \u00e9 o futuro. O future \u00e9 melhor a gente plantar e colher as sementes para que a gente venha a florestar esse mund\u00e3o todo\u201d. <\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Ela explica que produzir farinha de mandioca d\u00e1 muito trabalho e n\u00e3o gera tanta renda quanto colher sementes. Al\u00e9m disso, Eunice expressa um desejo real de restaurar os ecossistemas ao seu redor:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cH\u00e1 muito tempo eu queria reflorestar e n\u00e3o conseguia. Mas agora com a ajuda desse pessoal, n\u00f3s vamos chegar l\u00e1 juntos!\u201d<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Estamos muito felizes em ter pessoas t\u00e3o dedicadas trabalhando conosco para realizar o Corredor de Biodiversidade do Araguaia. O objetivo da Rede de Sementes Araguaia n\u00e3o \u00e9 apenas comprar sementes e utiliz\u00e1-las para o plantio, mas tamb\u00e9m valorizar e influenciar positivamente a vida de nossa comunidade de coletores de sementes!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>A coleta de sementes \u00e9 uma atividade cont\u00ednua que incentiva as pessoas a interagirem entre si e com a natureza. Fazemos isso conversando com nossos coletores de sementes, vendo quais sementes nativas eles podem encontrar com mais facilidade e verificando se elas s\u00e3o adapt\u00e1veis \u200b\u200ba \u00e1reas alagadas e outras condi\u00e7\u00f5es adversas que caracterizam nossos locais de restaura\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Uma das novas esp\u00e9cies que come\u00e7amos a coletar recentemente \u00e9 o cafezinho. A foto abaixo mostra Dona Izabel e seu Dioclessio, dois integrantes da Rede de Sementes do Araguaia que moram no assentamento Ipiracema, em Caseara. Eles possuem um terreno na regi\u00e3o onde cultivam mandioca, criam gado e coletam sementes h\u00e1 cinco meses. Em suas m\u00e3os, v\u00ea-se um saco de sementes de Cafezinho!
