“The green corridor being built on both banks of the Araguaia River in Brazil will increase reforestation and generate conscience about its impact.”

MARTIJN VAN ROOIJ

About me

Connecting approximately 200 million people in 160 countries, it plays a major part in developing the world’s economy. Citibank’s mission is to be a trustworthy partner for its clients, providing financial services that will allow their economic growth. Citibank Brazil has a strong presence in the agribusiness and many of its clients are landowners in the Araguaia Corridor Zone.

How I relate to the BJF

Martijn is proud to be the first Supporting Friend of the Black Jaguar Foundation in Brazil. When he heard about the ambitious plans and strategy of the BJF for the Araguaia Biodiversity Corridor, he instantly became an active promoter. His knowledge of environmental legislation in Brazil combined with his vast banking experience provided him with the insight to judge the BJF’s project as not only ambitious but, above all, realistic.
